Ritech is Indonesia's annual technology expo. Ritech (Reserch, Innovation, Technology) expo this year is special because it emphasizes on open source, with slogan "Indonesia, Go Open Source!". This year it's on 8 - 12 August 2007, on Mega Glodok Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The expo is the result of collaboration effort of Indonesian Ministry of Research & Technology, with its Event Organizer and the event sponsors.
Among the events are free wimax hotspot, IT clinic (where people can have their computer installed with Ubuntu, among other things), Linux online games & competition (about 20 PCs dedicated for this), Robot demo, etc.
This expo is also unique where it's done in a mall. The Minister of Research & Technology wishes the expo to be as close as possible to the people; and not alienating itself in an expo center in the middle of nowhere.
Indonesian Ubuntu Community was allocated a booth together with another open source institution. Then it's given its own booth when we were acknowledged to be able to host it ourselves. When the Ministry realized the presence of Edubuntu (Linux for Education), we were given another booth.
The community then quickly organized itself. In a few days, numerous contributions were made : xbanners, computers & laptops for demo, people to host the booths, LCD projector, t-shirts, stickers. A community member even sponsored 2 booth babes

Ritech 2007
Ritech 2007 adalah acara pameran teknologi tahunan yang diadakan oleh Depristek. Pameran tahun ini spesial karena fokus kepada open source, dengan slogan "Indonesia, Go Open Source!".
Komunitas Ubuntu Indonesia mendapatkan 2 buah stan pada acara ini, dan akan mendemokan berbagai hal seputar Ubuntu serta acara-acara lainnya baik di panggung maupun di ruang seminar.
